When we were considering breeding Tulia we made a exhaustive and exhausting search for an appropriate male. Some males were offered and did not suit. The use of some males were solicited, but the owners did not find us and/or Tulia suitable. We kept looking and some time later tracked down the breeder of a lovely, but neutered, male we had met locally. After several phone interviews Sheri Day invited us to meet her dogs and we lost our hearts to Ian. We were looking for a mentor and a dog with good conformation, a healthy pedigree, and good movement. No dog has perfect conformation, but we felt that his conformation would be a good compliment to Tulia's. Then came the hitch. Because of health problems it looked as if Sheri would be unable to provide adequately for Ian, and she might have to place him. We begged and pleaded and after several more discussions she agreed to place him with us, on the condition that we would show him to his championship, with her assistance. Thus began our show experience. With her help we did finish him, and Sheri, whose health had improved, was able to actually show him the time he finished.
