The Hounds of Heaven News Much to our regret the planned breeding of Rebel to Alana did not take. We are planning/hoping for a breeding this winter or spring, cast to be announced.
Dog Show News At the St. Claire Shores Show yesterday:
Paddy (Tenderlands Padraig of Manasota, 1 year old) took Winner's Dog, Best of Winners, and Best of Breed for his first point.
Phillie (Tenderlands Philomena of Manasota, 1 year old)
took Winner's Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex (to Best in Breed) for her first
point her first time in the ring.
Myrna (Tenderlands Myrna of Manasota, 15 months old)
took Reserve Winner's Bitch.
All in all, a satisfactory day. We took the top 3 positions.
Now, if truth be told, this was a lot of work and a long drive, but not too surprising.
We were the only 3 wolfhounds entered. Well, it was good puppy experience.
Work continues apace on the new kenneling space adjacent to the kitchen. When it is hot, nothing seems to go right. (The space will be air conditioned and heated, of course - but for that you need insulated walls and need to have the windows in. Soon ! Soon !
And, if it were not for the pesky force of gravity work would be much easier. (it seems that just when I need a tool I knock it off the ladder or into the subfloor area - darn.) The new space will have a rubber floor and will have fiberglass-reinforced plastic (over oriented strand board) walls and "should" be able to stand up to puppies - we hope !
