We started the year with 8 Irish Wolfhounds and ended the year with 11, which is
not bad at all, at all. Fionna at almost 10 and Tulia at almost 9 are still going strong
(if showing their ages somewhat) and Ian and the Valentine Litter (Alana, Aoife,
Nuala, and Liam (and Ciara, but she lives almost to the arctic circle, in the Upper Peninsula
of Michigan)) are all doing well.
And, somehow little Myrna and even littler Philomena
and Padraig found their way to the pack.

As those of you who show know, it is as much luck as it is having a good and well prepared dog.
Having said that we can then boast of the great discernment of the judges in giving Liam his championship with 4 major wins
and bringing Alana to within 1 major win of her championship. The most fun was the day at Mt. Pleasant when the
person who was going to handle Alana decided to spend more time with her boyfriend and dropped out 2 days before the show.
Bill (somehow) managed to show 3 dogs to: Liam: Best of Breed (over 2 champions),
Alana: Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Breed (also over 2 champions) and Aoife: Reserve
Winner's Bitch (Alana was Winner's Bitch so that was all that was left.)
We've enjoyed most of 2003 and we wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and to all the wolfies out there.
